What is a prenatal breastfeeding/pumping

prep appointment?

This is an appointment while you are still pregnant to go over everything related to breastfeeding and/or pumping for your newborn. We also discuss your own individual history to help identify any challenges you may face. This appointment can be at your home or virtually!

What will we go over?

• How to latch your baby

• Different breastfeeding positions

• How to know when baby is hungry & done

• How to know baby is getting enough

• Help you decide what type of pump will work best for you and what pumps your insurance will cover

• Measure you for pump flanges (in person)

• Show you how to hand express milk and save it while still pregnant (if desired)

• Go over your personal history

• Answer all your questions

• We also are then a familiar face once your baby is born if you do run into any challenges.

Will my insurance cover it, what is the cost?
This appointment will be covered at no cost to you through Medi-Cal/Partnership! It will use one of your doula appointments.

Most private insurances will reimburse you! You'll pay for your own appointment up front and then we will give you a superbill so your insurance can reimburse you. A prenatal breastfeeding appointment is $175 for an in person appointment and $150 for a virtual appointment. 

 

Your visit also includes 2 weeks of follow up support via secured messaging for any simple questions you forgot to ask while you are still pregnant.

We are located in Paradise and will travel within

30 minutes, such as:

Chico, Oroville, Durham, Magalia, etc.
